HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices

This site is not for emergencies.

Arkansas Counseling and Wellness Services does not monitor messages or this website outside admin hours (Monday through Thursday, 9 AM to 2 PM Central). If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or medical emergency, do not use this website. Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. For mental health crisis support 24 hours a day, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (free, confidential, English and Spanish, press 1 for veterans).

We do not transmit Protected Health Information over non-secure email. For anything involving your clinical care, please use our secure patient portal or call our office.

Complaints

If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you can file a complaint with us or with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights. You will not be retaliated against for filing a complaint.

This notice is effective as of April 21, 2026. We may update this notice from time to time. The current version will always be posted here.

Dr. Kristy Burton serves as the HIPAA Privacy Officer for Arkansas Counseling and Wellness Services. To submit a privacy complaint, request access to your protected health information, request an amendment, or ask any HIPAA-related question:
