Kristy is the owner and executive director of Arkansas Counseling and Wellness Services, working with individuals facing a variety of mental health, substance abuse, and addiction concerns. She began her career in law enforcement after earning her undergraduate degree in criminal justice in 2001, and for nearly two decades worked as a law enforcement officer and instructor with Arkansas community corrections and US probation.

Today she serves as President of the Arkansas Addiction Professionals Association, President-Elect of the Arkansas Counseling Association, board member of the Arkansas Substance Abuse Certification Board, and a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers. She is a professor at Ouachita Baptist University. Her clinical practice focuses on trauma, addiction, co-occurring disorders, and clinical supervision. She is Brainspotting certified and a DOT-qualified Substance Abuse Professional.

Awards include selection in Marquis Who's Who 2024, the Rosenthal Award from the Arkansas Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and the Champion Award from the Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
