General information, not personal advice
The content on this website provides general information about mental health, substance use, court approved programs, DOT SAP evaluations, and related topics. It is intended to help readers understand what these services are, how they work, and what to expect. It is not a substitute for individualized clinical assessment, diagnosis, or treatment by a licensed clinician who has reviewed your specific situation.
No clinician-client relationship
Reading this website does not establish a clinician-client relationship between you and Arkansas Counseling and Wellness Services or any individual clinician. A clinician-client relationship begins only when you have completed intake, an initial evaluation, and informed consent paperwork with one of our licensed clinicians.
Individual variation
Mental health and substance use treatment outcomes vary considerably from person to person. The same diagnosis can lead to very different treatment paths. Examples on this site describe common patterns, not guarantees of any specific outcome for any specific person.
Currency of information
We review clinical content on a quarterly cadence per our editorial policy. Each clinical page displays the date of last review. If a regulation has changed since the last review (for example, a 49 CFR Part 40 amendment), the affected page may not yet reflect the change. If you are making a decision that depends on current regulations, verify with the relevant agency directly.
Emergencies require in-person care
This site does not handle emergencies. We are not staffed to respond to crises. If you or someone you know is in danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is staffed 24 hours a day for mental health crises.
