This course will be presented by Kristy Burton, PhD, LPC-S, AADC, MAC, CS, NCC, SAP, TA, A Licensed Professional Counselor and Advanced Alcohol Drug Counselor with over 10 years of experience as a therapist and over 20 years working with individuals with substance use disorders.
Overview:
This 3-hour virtual training session is designed for mental health practitioners seeking to enhance their understanding and application of ethical decision-making in clinical practice. Participants will explore key ethical principles, frameworks, and case studies relevant to mental health settings, enabling them to navigate complex situations with confidence and integrity.
Objectives:
- Understand foundational ethical principles and their application in mental health practice.
- Identify common ethical dilemmas faced by mental health practitioners.
- Apply a structured decision-making framework to real-world scenarios.
- Discuss the importance of cultural competence and sensitivity in ethical decision-making.
