If a court has ordered you to complete anger management or you want help controlling angry reactions before they cost you more, you are in the right place. Arkansas Counseling and Wellness offers a court approved 8 hour anger management class taught in two 4 hour sections by licensed clinicians at our North Little Rock office. The class is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy and uses four evidence based interventions: relaxation training, cognitive restructuring, communication skills training, and stress inoculation. You receive completion documentation accepted by Arkansas courts. Payment is required in advance and you must attend both sections to receive credit.
Last reviewed
Our court-approved anger management class is an 8-hour psychoeducational program delivered in two 4-hour sections (Section A and Section B). Participants must attend both sections to receive credit. The class uses cognitive behavioral therapy principles and practical skill-building to help adult participants recognize triggers, interrupt escalation, and develop healthier responses to conflict.
What does the class cover?
The anger cycle: triggers, thoughts, body signals, behavior, consequences
Communication skills for expressing needs without aggression
Identifying patterns and warning signs early
Making amends and repairing relationships damaged by anger
Relapse prevention and long-term maintenance
Important distinction
Anger management is not the same as DVIP. If you were referred for domestic violence, anger management is not an appropriate program for that situation and it will not satisfy the court order. If you are unsure which program your court order requires, bring your paperwork when you call and we can help clarify.

Related Questions
Can the class be taken online?
No. The 8 hour anger management class meets in person at our North Little Rock office. The cognitive behavioral therapy curriculum is delivered face to face by a licensed clinician across two 4 hour sections.
Does anger management satisfy a DVIP court order?
No. Anger management and DVIP are separate programs with different curricula and accreditation. If your court ordered DVIP for domestic violence, anger management does not satisfy the order. Bring your paperwork to intake so we can confirm the right program.
What if I have to miss one of the two sections?
Both sections (A and B) are required for completion credit. If you miss a section, you must attend that section in a future cohort to complete the program. Make up timing depends on cohort availability.
Will my employer or court receive details from the sessions?
Only attendance and completion documentation is shared with your referring party, not session content. Your participation is otherwise confidential under HIPAA and Arkansas counseling regulations.
Do I need a referral or court order to enroll?
No referral is required. Anyone seeking help managing anger reactions can enroll. Most participants are court ordered, but the class is also appropriate for self referred adults.
