I’m Sarah Van Hook, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Arkansas. I bring years of experience in working with individuals, groups, and families, offering compassionate and effective counseling tailored to each client’s unique needs. I’ve had the privilege of supporting people across a wide range of age groups and life stages, helping them navigate challenges, build healthier relationships, and discover their strengths. Whether I’m working one-on-one, facilitating group sessions, or supporting relational dynamics, my goal is always to create a safe, supportive space for growth and healing.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, along with Master’s degrees in both Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. This academic foundation has given me a well-rounded and in-depth understanding of psychological principles, human behavior, and a variety of therapeutic approaches. My education continues to shape the way I approach each client—with curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to evidence-based care that honors the whole person and their unique story.
In my practice, I specialize in working with clients who are navigating challenges such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, and family or relational difficulties. I strive to meet each person where they are, offering support that is both compassionate and practical. I draw from evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques to help clients develop coping strategies, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change. My goal is to create a collaborative and empowering therapeutic space where growth feels possible and hope can take root.
I understand that change can be difficult, and I’m deeply committed to walking alongside my clients as they navigate life’s challenges. My goal is to empower each person with the tools, insights, and strategies they need to foster meaningful growth and create lasting change. I believe that healing and transformation happen best in a collaborative, trusting relationship, so I work closely with clients to help them feel supported, understood, and equipped to move forward with confidence and clarity.
I offer in-person appointments and telehealth options. For more information, feel free to reach out to me via email at Sarah@arcounselingandwellness.com.
