Tamara Tabor
Counseling Intern
I believe every individual is unique. I see counseling as a partnership where the client knows themselves best and the counselor is there as a guide and to offer support. I aim to offer an individualistic experience where you can feel safe, empowered, and accepted.
During my residency experience I found my current approach to beamed at long-term solutions using evidence-based techniques, drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and person-centered therapy. However, as an intern, my approach to treatment is constantly developing as I gain guided, supervised, experience. I am interested in rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) and play therapy; With more experience and training, I hope to utilize these evidence-based techniques as well.
I completed my associate of liberal arts in sciences at Arkansas State University – Beebe in 2017. I then transferred to The University of Central Arkansas where I completed my associates in sociology and bachelor’s in psychology in 2019. I am currently attending Capella University, working on a Master of Science in clinical mental health counseling with a pending graduation date of December 2024.
In my free time, you can find me playing video games with my friends, reading, watching C-dramas, watching K-dramas, gardening, spending time with my grandparents, or hiking.
