Dr. Burton holds LPC-S, LADAC, AADC, MAC, and CS credentials and is a current member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers. Supervision includes case discussions, technique review, ethical decision making, and feedback toward your professional development. Sessions are available in person and via telehealth. Who is Dr. Kristy Burton?
Dr. Burton holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of the Cumberlands (2023), an MS in Community Counseling from John Brown University (2013), and is a board-approved supervisor in Arkansas for both mental health and addictions. She serves as President of the Arkansas Addiction Professionals Association, President-Elect of the Arkansas Counseling Association, board member for the Arkansas Substance Abuse Certification Board, member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers, She has nearly two decades of pre-clinical experience as a law enforcement officer and instructor with Arkansas Community Corrections and U.S. Probation.
What can I expect?
The first hour is intake: scope, learning goals, format, frequency, and rate. You bring case material, video or audio recordings (with client consent), or written case conceptualization to each subsequent session. You leave each session with concrete next steps and documentation that meets ARBOEC supervision logbook requirements.
