Hello! My name is Ally McCormick, and I am excited to join the AR Counseling and Wellness team as a counseling intern. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, where I have gained experience in the following areas of study:
During this internship, I will be supervised by Kristy Burton, LPC, and participate in group supervision through my school’s program. I completed my 180 hours of clinical practicum at Siloam Springs Therapeutic Day Treatment with Arisa Health where I provided therapeutic services to students ranging from five to thirteen years old. During my time in practicum, I utilized interventions stemming from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Play Therapy. In this internship, I hope to strengthen these skills and more with a wider client demographic range. Over the course of Summer 2025, I will be participating in an EMDR training, which can be used with clients experiencing the effects of trauma.
